“From Raggs to Stitches” is the trunk show scheduled for the Kanata Quilt Guild meeting on Thursday, September 8, 2016. We’ll meet Irene Lafleche, who transitioned from a 35-year career in Government and owner of a home-based knitting business, to her creative passion as teacher, designer and creator of quilts, large and small. The quilt shown is a whimsical appliqué, called K9 Garden.
In the thirteen years that she has been quilting Irene has produced well over 200 quilts, ranging in size from miniatures and wall-hangings to king-sized bed quilts, initially for personal use, gifts and charitable donations.
She recently launched her website, TuCan Quilt Store, to further support sales, teaching and sharing ideas. Irene can also be found on Facebook.
