February Program – Johanna Masko

Johanna is an award-winning, Toronto-based textile artist and designer. Born and raised just south of Detroit, she holds a Fine Arts degree from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Toronto.

Her mother, an avid textile crafter with a variety of interests, started her around the age of four with a needle, thread and some scraps. She has been sewing ever since!

Johanna’s presentation ‘All About Scraps’ shares her insights from how do we end up with so many scraps to what we should do with them. She will suggest how to sort, store and use scraps. Johanna will spark your desire to dive into your own scrap collections.

Johanna draws inspiration for her textiles from a variety of unconventional sources. Often called a skilled colourist, she strives to build confidence with both colour and technique in her many patchwork, quilting and cross stitch students in Canada and the UK.

Guests are always welcome at our Zoom meetings – sign up here.
